Membership comprises parliamentarians from the Lords and Commons and associate members from business, education and all other organisations and institutions involved in engineering, with a particular emphasis on young engineers attending and becoming involved in events.

Three formal events at Westminster take place every year (see calendar page) and additional activities may be inserted into the parliamentary programme, in conjunction with associate members of the Group.

Speakers to date have been:

  • Lord Adonis (high speed rail)
  • Lord Broers, Dr Richard Clayton and Ian Gibson MP (internet security)
  • Lord Browne, President of the Royal Academy of Engineering
  • Sir William Castell and Professor Sir Bruce Ponder (engineering and medicine)
  • Lord Drayson (careers in space)

An annual review will be produced each year and sent to all members and associates and relevant organisations.

The All Party Parliamentary Engineering Group intends to be an innovative parliamentary group enabling contact and involvement from the highest levels of government with the engineering profession but with a special emphasis on young engineers.
